The Community College of Southern Nevada is a large junior college with seven different campuses and a well-developed web-learning facility where students can study for an associate of arts degree in communication. The Art Institute of Las Vegas offers Bachelor of Science degrees in digital media production and visual effect & motion graphics.
The job market and population in Las Vegas is exploding. All job sectors are projected to increase by nearly 50% by 2012. For workers in the entertainment industry, the sky is the limit, as new jobs are being created constantly. During the same time span the number of jobs for camera operators is expected to increase from 160 to 246 for an increase of 53.8%. A/V equipment technicians are expected to encounter a 60% increase in the number of jobs to arrive at 1,411 positions by 2012.
