Las Vegas is often associated with gambling, parties and nightlife. However, the city has been expanding its cultural offerings and economic base in an effort to become more than a tourist destination. Efforts have been made by the city to attract businesses that are not related to the tourism industry – though of course it should be noted that the tourism industry is itself a major source of graphic design labor, as businesses endeavor to entice travelers to the area. Las Vegas is home to several fortune 500 companies in the entertainment industry such as Harrah’s Entertainment and MGM Grand, and many other businesses that employ graphic designers. |
